"I pored over hours of music from this era trying to find a song I could both connect to lyrically and still do justice to the vocal track. I found that combination was pretty hard to find, as most of the songs either had lyrics that were sappy and boy-crazy, or displayed such vocal prowess I couldn't touch on what made the songs so remarkable. But this song, co- authored by Wendy Rene and her brother, has such a universal message- that part of loving is losing, and while the vocal track is wholly unique, by dropping the key I was able to manage a rendition I was satisfied with. The backing vocals by Bimbo Yaga, was an added bonus that made our version unflinchingly haunting, which I've come to see as my signature." - Marie Oliver (LadyBabyMiss)
After laughter comes tears
(After laughter comes tears) After your laughter there'll be tears
When you're in love, you're happy
Oh, and then, when you're in a harm, you gaze
(After laughter comes tears) this doesn't last always
(After laughter comes tears) after your laughter there'll be tears
My friends all say, "Don't try to hold it"
But I can't let that guy know how I feel
I'll try to hold back my, my, my tears
But they keep saying
(After laughter comes tears) after your laughter oh, oh, oh
I'll try to hide, hide my sorrows
I wonder, can I hold them 'til tomorrow
(After laughter comes tears) maybe, I'll hold them for a year
But they keep saying
After your laughter
Now you will see those wet little tears
(After laughter comes tears) after your laughter
A little biddy tear will look plum into your eye
(After laughter comes tears) after your laughter oh, oh, oh
after your laughter
