Half the original album was recorded at Jono Manson's Nightcrawler studios in Brooklyn and consisted of full band recordings.. I found a cassette with instrumental basic tracks of those seven songs and used three of them to rerecord new vocals and guitars over. Hiss used to be the worst thing you could have on a recording but here I add brand new 2014 state-of-the-art hiss .Mr. Dolby is already turning in his newly fitted grave. The music for this number was arrived at by playing the Entertainment Tonight theme wrong. What did I tell you? Also, the ad-lib at the end "Take your girl to Central Park and choke her" was in reference to the "preppie murder" that happened at the time not far from Danny's apartment where we used to write in 1986. Robert Chambers, a handsome young lad, killed Jennifer Levin and his defense team tried using the "rough sex" rationale but his conduct during the trial period seemed to implicate that the preppie murderer was the real thing. There was video leaked of him decapitating a Barbie doll. The more you know...
